On the Eve of Spring

On Thursday, March 19th, we welcome back Spring. In this transition of seasons embrace the beauty of the uncertain and certain. Spring is a time of new beginnings, birth, and rejuvenation as we welcome more light into our lives.



Gather up your contact list and phone a friend or loved one. This week reminded me of the global impact, the ripple effect, that an event can have on our community. While this may be a time to turn inward, retreat, or do less for the greater good of us all, I encourage you to reach out and connect with your community. Even if it's virtually, a good old-fashioned phone call, or a thoughtfully crafted letter...Be the light in someone's day.



Pause, surrender, stillness...these potent skills in our yoga practice are now at the forefront of our new normal. Honor requests to protect those whom are most vulnerable. Hold space for healthcare providers and resources. Manifest a peaceful surrender, manifest joy to welcome spring, and manifest a deepened gratitude for our local, regional, and global community.

Ayurveda, the sister science to yoga, suggests lighter fair of easily digested foods in the Spring. A Miso Soup is delicious and easily converts to Vegan when ingredients like chicken are removed and the stock adjusted to a hearty vegetable base. It's also lovely as we transition into Spring, and may need the warmth and comfort that a soup provides.

(Tip: Substitute EVOO)

Loaded Miso Soup was on the menu at a recent event. It boasted a delicious flavor and the extra Bok Choy was especially yummy in the vegan version.
